In the 80's some clever people in London realised
that they could get more people dancing a partner dance similar
to jive if they didn't try to teach them any footwork. So they
devised simple moves which could be taught quickly and only involved
the dancers walking to the beat - not worrying about which foot
was which. This developed into a range of styles involving hundreds
of moves ranging from simple to complex and danced by hundreds
of thousands of people across the world.
Ceroc is based on Rock and Roll which was first introduced into
France at the end of the Second World War. Since the early 80's
Ceroc has developed its own unique style which is easy to learn
and great fun. Besides this, it is a fantastic way to keep fit
and a very sociable way to spend an evening.
With sounds ranging from Big Band Swing of the 40's to dance music
of the 90's there is something for everyone - which is part of
the reason that Ceroc appeals to such a wide age range.
